Ian Mortimer

Dr. Ian Mortimer is the founding president of the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. Launched in the fall of 2024, the Golisano Institute provides an entrepreneurially-grounded business education, within a two-year timeframe, that culminates in high-skills business employment, new business development, coaching, and joint degree options with schools such as Syracuse University. The Institute is financially supported by the generosity of B. Thomas Golisano, Entrepreneur and Founder of Paychex, which ensures that all motivated students can access a high-quality business education. Prior to initiating the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship, Ian held senior-level enrollment and planning leadership positions at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Nazareth College, and Champlain College. In each of these experiences, improved market position and enrollment growth was achieved. In addition, early career experiences include technology consulting, product development, and professional services management at small start-ups and large technology firms. While at St. Bonaventure University, Ian earned a B.A. in English and a M.S.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and learned college admissions work. In addition, Ian holds an MBA from the Saunders College of Business at RIT and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from LeBow College of Business at Drexel University.
