Laurel Bongiorno
Dr. Laurel Bongiorno serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at Hartwick College. She oversees the college’s faculty and academic staff, the Yager Museum, the Pine Lake Environmental Campus, the Stevens-German Library, the Student Success Center, the Registrar’s Office, and the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. Her scholarship is focused on early childhood education, learning through play, creativity, and educational leadership. Laurel has over 25 years of experience in Higher Education. She taught early childhood and elementary education for 14 years before moving to administration roles. She studies positive organization development and is certified in Appreciative Inquiry. Her college experiences include Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York and Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. Prior to higher education, Laurel served in early childhood education leadership roles. Laurel earned her PhD from Walden University, her MS at Wheelock College (now part of Boston University), and earned her BS in Business from Gordon College.
