Sasha Sidorkin
Dr. Sasha Sidorkin has had a distinguished career in the field of education, where he formerly served as the Dean of the College of Education at Sacramento State. Currently, he has taken on the role of Chief AI Officer at California State University, Sacramento, marking a significant transition from his previous focus. In this innovative capacity, Dr. Sidorkin also pioneers as the founding Director of the National Institute on AI in Society, demonstrating his commitment to exploring the intersections of artificial intelligence and its broader impacts on societal structures. This shift in his professional trajectory from education to a leading role in AI underscores his versatility and forward-thinking approach to the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies. Before joining Sacramento State, Sidorkin held several prestigious positions, including the dean of the Graduate School of Education and director of the Center for the Study of Innovation in Education at HSE University in Moscow. He has also served as dean at Rhode Island College's Feinstein School of Education and Human Development and director of the School of Teacher Education at the University of Northern Colorado, alongside professorial appointments at Bowling Green State University and Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University in Russia. Sidorkin's academic achievements are notable, with two doctorates in education from Moscow’s Research Institute for Theory and History of Education and the University of Washington, and a master's degree in peace studies from the University of Notre Dame. His teaching and research interests span dialogical education, the economics of education, and innovation diffusion in education.
