About the Episode

Colleges and universities across the country are restructuring in attempts to breakdown silos and save costs. While the consolidation of departments can, at times, be chaotic and disruptive, it can also help reduce friction in the student experience and create unexpected efficiencies. On this episode, we interview Anna Johnson and Amber Molhagen from the University of Houston's Graduate College of Social Work. Anna and Amber share thoughts on how to recruit grad students in a more personalized way, and how their College increased student retention after the university merged the admissions and academic affairs offices.  This podcast was recorded at the TxGAP 2019 Summer Institute.
