Dr. Adam Poluzzi is the Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate Enrollment Management at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. He has twenty years of experience in graduate admissions, marketing, recruitment, and financial aid. He has previously served as the Associate Dean of Enrollment Management at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry and the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at the Boston College Lynch School of Education. Returning to the field of higher education in 2003, he began his professional career in Financial Aid at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, later moving to the Office of Admission as the Assistant Director of Admission. He also spent several years as Associate Director of Graduate Admission at Suffolk University and led the recruitment and admission efforts as Director of Graduate Admission for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Simmons University prior to coming to BC. Charles Whitaker is dean and professor at Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications. Whitaker, who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Medill, is the first alumnus of the school to serve as dean. Before joining the Medill faculty, Whitaker was a senior editor at Ebony magazine, where he covered a wide range of cultural, social, and political issues and events on four continents, including two U.S. presidential campaigns, and the installation of the first black members of the British Parliament.
Chris Heubner is a digital strategist at Cyberwoven, which is a website strategy, design, and development agency located in Columbia, South Carolina. She specializes in work that advances efforts related to culture, equity, inclusion, women, and BIPOC in the workplace. Bell spent more than 15 years on the agency side of advertising and branding creating integrated marketing campaigns for some of the world's most recognized brands. Dr. Frederick A Pereira is a faculty member and part of the recruitment team at Baylor College of Medicine. Howard Purcell, OD ‘84, FAAO was named the 13th president of New England College of Optometry in July of 2018. Dr. Purcell brings to the position a wealth of experience in private practice, academia, and the optometric industry. He is well versed in evolving trends and technologies in healthcare and optometry in particular and brings this expertise to the presidency. Prior to his appointment as President, Dr. Purcell served as the Senior Vice President, Customer Development for Essilor of America. He was part of the Essilor team for 10 years. Prior to joining Essilor he spent 13 years as Senior Director of Professional Affairs for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care. Dr. Purcell is a graduate of NECO, Class of 1984, and has long been involved in the school through presenting continuing education, supporting student development, and serving on the Board of Trustees. Dr. Purcell began his optometric career by participating in a group optometric practice for eleven years with his father, NECO alumnus Saul Purcell, OD ’54, in Miami Beach, FL. Beginning in June 1991, Dr. Purcell joined the faculty of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. During his career at the college, he was a principal in the development of the Department of Cornea and Contact Lenses. As Associate Professor, Dr. Purcell was responsible for both the didactic and clinical components of the program. He later reached the rank of Deputy Dean of the college. Dr. Purcell is a Diplomate in the Cornea and Contact Lens Section of the American Academy of Optometry. His energetic and enthusiastic style has made Dr. Purcell a popular lecturer internationally. Dr. Purcell’s unique philosophies and practices have often attracted the media to focus attention on current optometric issues and research in the industry.
