After a riveting career as a creative working for brands like The Weather Channel, Yamaha, and The Arthritis Foundation, Kathleen decided to try something new — and that something new was stepping into her first higher ed marketing role at the University of Lynchburg just about a year ago.

Tune in to hear the story behind how Kathleen decided to make this career pivot and hear her answers to questions like:

  1. Walk us through the decision to shift into higher ed...especially during such a tumultuous season for the industry. What attracted you to higher education and what have you loved most about working in higher ed marketing thus far?
  2. I’d be curious to know what words of encouragement you have for the industry...especially for veterans who’ve been working in higher ed for years and might be tempted to fall into “the grass is greener” elsewhere thinking...as someone who has worked in a number of contexts, what pieces of advice do you have for folks who might be considering a career pivot?
  3. What’s some of the best and worst pieces of career advice you have ever received?
