Everything Hinges on Marketing - A Conversation on Recruiting for Niche Programs with Edward J. Herrelko

Or listen on:

About the Episode

From working for Tony Robbins to dabbling in strategy at an ad agency to working as a dean at Southern California Seminary, Edward J. Herrelko III, Ph.D. has built quite a diverse resume. Edward is currently the Executive Director of Marketing & Communication, and the Chief Marketing Officer at Dallas Theological Seminary. Edward believes that "everything hinges on marketing" and that today's graduate enrollment management teams must become experts in executing data-driven campaigns that out smart, not out spend, the competition - especially those enrollment managers who recruit for niche programs. Edward also shares ideas on how institutions can better the student experience to reduce friction - from initial inquiry all the way through graduation.

Interviewee

Dr. Edward Herrelko III

I am fortunate to have built a career doing what I love– helping students to achieve their educational goals and helping institutions grow via marketing, enrollment management, online program management, business process improvements, and strategic partnerships with the right companies. My focus on building strong teams and leading from the front allows me to play a role in architecting solutions to important problems within the higher education industry as a whole. Ultimately, I believe that education has room for more innovation (especially through technology), better student experience (SX), increased diversity, and greater accessibility...online or in person!
